Brian R. Murer, D.C.
Brian Murer Brian R. Murer, D.C., the director of Bloomington Sports and Wellness, completed his undergraduate studies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. He received his doctorate in Chiropractic studies from Parker College of Chiropractic. Dr. Murer is certified in the application of Frequency Specific Micro-Current and Masters Level certified in Active Release Techniques. Dr. Murer has completed numerous hours of post graduate training in functional rehabilitation.

He is a treating member of the Active Release Techniques Corporate Solutions Program. The ART/CS program is a corporate health initiative where ART providers are placed in the workplace to reduce Workman’s Compensation costs incurred from repetitive motion sprain/strain injuries.

Dr. Murer spent five years as the staff chiropractor at Orthopedics of Southern Indiana. At OSI, he worked side by side with orthopedic surgeons gaining valuable insight into medical diagnosis and triage of orthopedic problems. He also serves as a consultant to the Indiana University athletic department collaborating on difficult soft-tissue problems.

Dr. Murer is a proud resident of Bloomington. He enjoys everything about living in our great town. When not working and spending time with his wife and two children, he likes to cycle, golf, run and swim.

Amanda Smith, D.C., M.Sc.
Amanda Smith Dr. Amanda Smith, associate chiropractor at Bloomington Sports and Wellness, is a native of Washington, Indiana. She completed her undergraduate studies in Biology at Indiana State University. Dr. Smith received her Doctorate in Chiropractic studies and her Masters degree in Sports Science and Rehabilitation from Logan College. She is Full Body and Long Nerve Entrapment certified in Active Release Techniques. Dr. Smith has specific interests in Complementary Sports Medicine, issues specific to the female athlete, and pain during pregnancy.

When not serving the residents of Bloomington at work. She serves them by volunteering her time at Sherwood Oaks Christian Church and coaching youth sports.

Ryan W. Pribble, D.C.
Ryan Pribble Dr. Ryan Pribble, DC is a native of Indiana. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology at Indiana University here in Bloomington. He received his doctorate in Chiropractic studies from Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa. Dr. Pribble is Full-Body Active Release Technique certified. He uses the Integrative Diagnosis system to diagnose and treat patients. Dr. Pribble has special interests in functional rehabilitation which has driven him to spend extensive hours in this area of study.

When not working, Dr. Pribble spends time coaching wrestling, running, weight training, and watching movies. He enjoys many sports and had success playing football and wrestling in high school. In 2003 Dr. Pribble was an Indiana State Champion in wrestling.

Michael V.M. Durisen, L.M.T.
Michael V.M. Durisen Michael V.M. Durisen is a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Indiana. He obtained an undergraduate degree in Biology from Indiana University before attending The Boulder College of Massage Therapy. He has trained in many techniques: Zen Shiatsu, Sports Massage, Orthopedic Massage, and Neuromuscular Therapy. He completed the 1000 hr certification program from BCMT as well as a certification in Zen Shiatsu. Michael has also attended the basic training course for the application of Frequency Specific Micro-current . After returning to Bloomington, Michael opened Integrative Healing Bodywork, a private practice from which he can share his healing with the Bloomington community. Michael administers Frequency Specific Micro-current treatments at Bloomington Sports and Wellness.

Aside from his healing studies, Michael has been a life-long athlete and has a great respect for physical pursuits. He also studies Yoga and Martial Arts, and has the opportunity to teach these disciplines at Indiana University in the Physical Activities Instruction Program.

Melissa Noble, LMT
Melissa Noble Melissa Noble is a Licensed Massage Therapist holding licenses in Indiana and Washington State. She is also a certified instructor and instructor trainer in the STOTT Pilates method. Melissa, the founder of Bodycenter Studio in Seattle, Washington, has been assisting clients with injuries using massage and Pilates since 1996. A former professional dancer, Melissa began studying Pilates after a knee injury. She has studied Pilates with Michelle Miller, Cary Regan and Jane Erskine. In Seattle, Melissa developed a long standing consulting relationship with Movement Systems Physical Therapy and taught the Instructor Training at the Physical Mind Institute at Erskine Fitness. She has completed several trainings in the upper and lower extremity based on the work of Paul Hodges. After moving to Bloomington in 2007, she opened Bodycenter Bloomington, a private practice of massage and Pilates that focuses in the treatment of injuries. Melissa will be assisting Dr. Murer with Frequency Specific Microcurrent and the instruction of functional exercises.


Shelly Nelson, Billing and Account Services
Shelly is the Director of Billing, Accounts, and Office Administration. Shelly has over 22 years experience in the health care field. She has extensive experience in insurance billing and account management. She has used her training and valuable experience in implementing front office and account collections procedures in the start up of both a dental and chiropractic office since moving to Bloomington. She loves the challenges that comes with this position and enjoys seeing all patient concerns through until resolved. A strong focus on good customer service is a priority for her.

Shelly attended Indiana State University, was a licensed hairdresser and police dispatcher prior to getting into the dental field after the birth of her daughter. Shelly and her family moved to the Bloomington area 16 years ago from Terre Haute and loves Bloomington and everything it has to offer. Spending her free time with her family and 4 grandchildren, shopping, decorating, and selling Lia Sophia jewelry are a few of her other passions.
